Old Came Rectory
Formerly the home of Rev. William Barnes, known to be Thomas Hardy’s tutor, Old Came Rectory in Dorset is a Grade II listed building of tasteful elegance. We helped our client navigate the challenging Listed Building Consent, gaining permission to implement new internal joinery, enhanced sanitation facilities including ensuites and bathrooms and an overall improved layout.
Our joinery package introduced a new, handmade kitchen, wine cellar and library, which was effectively created from planning to completion with the use of our full-service offering.

High Street, Bruton
We proudly won an LABC Award for the work we carried out on this Grade II listed building on Bruton High Street. Undertaking a full refurbishment and adding a contemporary extension to the rear of the building, our award-winning work was recognised for its ability to combine the old with the new, and for its technical intricacy.
We acted as principal architect and designer, taking care of planning and permissions, along with site support.

The Hills
With a beautiful brief that tasked us to design a contemporary space that provides panoramic views of the Jurassic Coast and is elevated to ‘float’ as a linear form, The Hills project in Dorset was a stunning site in an idyllic location.
Our design team carefully constructed a space which overlooked the English Channel and offered its inhabitants a subterranean bedroom, a kitchen built to entertain, and changing room facilities with showers to make the most of the adjacent beach. Plus, garaging for boats and sea sports equipment. A dream design for a dream property.

Bookham Farm
A wonderful project in the middle of Piddle Valley and the Dorset AONB, Bookham Farm – a former wildlife hide building – had a tricky planning permission to overcome in order to transform it into a holiday let. With a contemporary extension desired to make the most of the country views across the Blackmore Vale, we obtained successful permission for our forward-thinking designs, which included installing renewable technology and electric car charging points.
Careful consideration was needed to ensure minimal impact was made to the designated AONB surroundings.

Hill Farm
Contemporary style meets ancient woodland – our Hill Farm design project in Shaftesbury involved a single storey house, with roof terrace and an accessible spatial floor plan.
As its name suggests, a hill-top location offered views across the valley, and so our design challenge was to make the most of the surroundings with large picture windows and sliding doors. The choice of timber cladding for the exterior was made to complement the stunning, ancient woodland backdrop.

Winters Lane
Tucked beside the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, Winters Lane in West Dorset was a design project set to maximise the unique setting of this site. Providing multiple views across the Fleet to the coast and Chesil Beach, our team’s effective design was composed of multiple forms to both merge and reduce the massing of a building in such a prominent location.
With the need to obtain meticulous planning permission for a modern design in the shadow of a UNESCO site, we carefully implemented different axis of design to complement the landscape.
